‘Fabulous fantasy’ show The Voice Thief at the Fringe

We are delighted to announce that our promenade piece The Voice Thief will return to Summerhall as part of the Edinburgh festival Fringe this year from 5th-30th August.

‘Everything a piece of theatre should be’
The Guardian

On its premiere in November 2014 the Voice Thief played to sell out audiences, garnered fantastic reviews and received 4 CATS awards nominations for Best Design, Best Technical Production, Best Female Performance (Jenny Hulse) and Best Production for Children and Young People.

‘A fabulous fantasy you want to shout about’
The Herald

Proving a hit with children and adults alike this unique piece takes place in a transformed basement and sees the audience being taken on a very special tour of MIEVH (Mackenzie Institute for the Engagement of Vocal Harmony). Led by the enigmatic scientist, Dr Broderick Mackenzie, they are invited to journey through a labyrinthine maze of rooms and enjoy a whole variety of special experiences, including a scientific experiment in the laboratory and soothing lie down in the relaxation room. Things are not quite as playful as they seem on the surface however as Dr Mackenzie’s spirited daughter Beatrice reveals the unsettling reality behind his work.

We’re really pleased to have the opportunity to share this wonderful show with a wider audience and of course give anyone that enjoyed it the first time around the chance to take this mysterious tour once again.
