We have been invited by the Ricca Ricca Festa 2018, to be part of their ‘Focus on Scotland’ programme. We were last at the festival in 2012, and are delighted to be returning in this special year celebrating Scotland’s theatre for young audiences.
‘Focus on Scotland’ is made up of Scottish productions ( Cinderella – Shona Reppe, Whiteout – Barrowland Ballet, Night Light – Red Bridge Arts and White), a Scottish Market Day (artists and delegates from Scotland introduce their work and discuss the growth of TYA in Scotland), and a Scotland reception (aka a ceilidh) with special caller and former Catherine Wheels Stage Manager, Suzie Normand. Suzie showed her caller talent while White was in Shanghai last year where we held a Scottish party for the ASK staff and friends.
There will also be post-show discussions for White and Cinderella, providing TYA practitioners from Japan and Asia (and further afield) an opportunity to learn more about these productions and the artists involved.
The Focus on Scotland programme is organised by Imaginate, and funded by Creative Scotland, British Council, Scottish Government and the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation
White will travel to four Japanese venues in July as part of the festival before a month of shows at the ASK Beijing in August.
