Let me take you on an adventure to a place you have never been before…

This is a story about a lion, a girl and a most unlikely friendship.

Meet Marjan the Lion, the King of Kabul Zoo and probably the most famous lion in the world. Hear the amazing story of this brave, strong and hopeful lion who, against all odds, survived over 20 years in the most dangerous zoo in the world.

Meet Sonya an Afghani girl and Marjan’s best friend. Join her as she escapes from the terrible dangers in Kabul and flees across Europe to safety.

Separated by forces they could not control, Sonya makes a vow to one day return to Marjan, the Lion of Kabul.

Inspired by a true story, The Lion of Kabul will transport you into Marjan’s world where, through film, live music and storytelling, the sights and sounds of Kabul will come alive. Created by the award winning Catherine Wheels Theatre Company, the Lion of Kabul is performed in a purpose built tent to provide an unforgettable setting for a remarkable story.

The lion of Kabul is suitable for everyone aged 8 and over.
